Yale Lock Replacement and Internal Handle Re-Keyed in Rendcomb, Cirencester

A customer in Rendcomb, near Cirencester called and asked us to replace the Yale cylinder on her side door as some keys had been stolen.

We replaced the external Yale cylinder lock for a new Yale cylinder and then re-keyed the internal handle on the back of the lock body (the turn handle that lets you exit the property). These have a keyway in some of the Yale lock bodies to enable you deadlock the handle locking it stationary so a potential burglar can’t break glass in the door to reach in and unlock the Yale lock by turning the handle. This particular lock is a Yale Number 2 lock and it has been in circulation for many years.

I have added lots of photos of the lock in various stages of being stripped down at the customers house to be re-pinned so that the new key works the handle too.

Below I have added a video showing that the external Yale lock key works the internal locking handle too.
